What is a voluntary work camp?
Every year, Alpes de Lumière brings together approximately two hundred young people from all over the globe to participate in voluntary projects for the restoration and the renovation of the rural heritage of Provence. These camps contribute to preserving many sites in the region which are essential for understanding the history of the area, and which, today, have become important attractions for visitors.
Please help us to conserve our local heritage by joining us in our work this summer.
Why participate in a voluntary work camp?
When you participate in a voluntary work camp, you will have the chance to discover Provence. Every afternoon is given over to leisure activities and visits, and the weekends are reserved for outings and events organised with the young people participating in our other work camps.
You will also have the opportunity to discover more about local building techniques. Specialised stone masons, who will help you to learn how to use the tools and materials, supervise all of our restoration projects. No previous experience is required from you.
